Retiree Open House at Global Training Center on Friday, August 21

Get Ready—This Year’s Alaska Airlines Retiree Event on Aug. 21 will be something special!

The retiree picnic committee is shaking things up in the best possible way this year. Instead of the traditional gathering at The Cove, this summer retirees are invited to an exclusive open house at Alaska’s brand new Global Training Center in Renton—a rare behind the scenes look at where today’s Alaska Air Group employees learn their craft.

This impressive 600,000 square foot facility, just a short drive from Sea Tac, brings all of Alaska Air Group's training operations together under one roof. You’ll see where pilots, flight attendants, reservation agents, and customer service agents sharpen their skills using passenger cabin and ticket counter mockups, along with a battery of full motion flight simulators. The center also features a uniform fit studio, the Company Store, a fitness center, and a spacious café staffed by real chefs.

Company leaders and representatives from the Alaska Airlines Credit Union and Employee Travel will be on hand to answer employee questions.

Please take the time to register yourself.  No guests are allowed, only retirees.  We want to maximize the number of employees who can attend.  Of course, if you need the support of another person to get to the GTC, you can register them as your guest.

Parking is plentiful around the facility.  No shuttle from airport is being provided but Uber/Lyft are viable options. We are trying to encourage this event for retirees only.  Please limit your guests if possible.  Enter the reception space on the west side of the building.  Please contact aagretirees@outlook.com with any questions you might have.
