To ensure we accommodate as many youth as possible, groups are asked to maintain at least a 4:1 youth-to-chaperone ratio. All adults must be registered for security purposes. We ask that all groups have at least 3 youth to maximize the experience for students. Mahalo for your understanding.

No, this event is free of charge. To help us keep costs in line, please provide at least a week’s notice for cancellation.

Some activities during Aviation Day require advanced sign up. These sessions have limited capacity and will be first-come-first-served.

There is no waitlist for sessions. It is recommended that you frequently log back into your registration to check current session capacities in case of cancellations.
How do I get copies of my group’s schedules?

Once the registration process is complete, your confirmation page will detail each group member’s name and session details. You will then need to distribute this information to the youth in your group. (see below for example)

How do I edit my registration after it has been submitted?
How do I edit my registration after it has been submitted?
To edit your registration, click the "View Registration" link in your confirmation email. Once you return to your confirmation page, click "Modify Registration." This will take you back to the "Add group members" page, where you can view, modify or cancel any individual in your group, as well as add new members, space permitting.
Please note: If you are modifying your registration, you will need to click submit at the end before your information is saved.
Will there be food available?

A light meal and beverages will be provided for all participants at our Koapaka location. If you are in Wave 1, your meal will be at provided 1125AM; Wave 2, your meal will be provided at 125PM; Wave 3, your meal will be provided at 325PM; Wave 4, your meal will be provided at 505PM. You are welcome to bring additional snacks if you would like to. We ask that anyone with special food requirements, please bring a meal that meets those requirements.

Registration will close one week prior to the event, or once maximum capacity is reached.
Can I drop off my child at the event and pick them up later?

Please coordinate drop-off and pick-up of your child with your child’s designated chaperone. Students will not be allowed to be dropped off directly with Hawaiian Airlines staff.

This event is not open to the public. Only adults who are chaperones will be permitted to attend.

Yes, all youth must be chaperoned by an adult from their group. Hawaiian Airlines Aviation Day does not provide chaperones.
Why is there an age requirement?

The Aviation Day program is specifically designed to engage youth through exposure to the variety of careers available in the aviation industry. Our presentations and activities are designed to spark interest in students at a young age. From experience, we have determined participants must be aged 13-18.

Employees are encouraged to sign up to volunteer via Team Kōkua at the event, in which volunteers will be given breaks to also experience the Aviation Day activities for themselves.

We encourage carpooling to the event. Parking will be available in designated areas at the Airport Industrial Park Association (AIPA) building. Click here for detailed instructions.
No participant parking is available at the Hawaiian Airlines hangar. There will be bus shuttles to transport you to/from the hangar.
When and where do I check in?
When and where do I check in?
The event offers four options for check-in times: 845AM, 1045AM, 11AM, or 1PM which will determine when and where you check in.
- 845AM or 1045AM: Please park at AIPA per the instructions and check in at the Hawaiian Airlines Headquarters at Koapaka (3375 Koapaka St., G-350, Honolulu, HI 96819)
- 11AM or 1PM: Please park at AIPA per the instructions and catch the shuttle to our Hawaiian Airlines Hangar location (277 Elliot St., Honolulu, HI 96819)

Please wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and pants that you are comfortable getting dirty.
Photo policy

During your visit, look for the photo engagement opportunities in each room. Remember to take a photo of your experience and upload it to the designated link provided during the event. Photography is not permitted in the hangar. Images of aircraft mid-maintenance can be easily misrepresented or misconstrued without proper context. Please ask a volunteer before capturing photos.
